Social-Area Framework for Early Security Triggers at Airports

The research in SAFEST focuses on

  • Development and analysis of an area surveillance system that is easy to deploy, inexpensive, resilient against malfunctions of individual components, and respects the privacy of citizens
  • The system will operate in distributed way, collect anonymized data, transfer this data to a central location for evaluation, and – if necessary – alert the operator and/or the general public.
  • To ensure the real-world applicability of the project results, we evaluate our system on the large airport Berlin Brandenburg (BER) jointly with our partner Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
