Dr. Osman Ugus

 

About:

I received my diploma and PhD degree in computer science with the focus on IT security from the Technical University of Darmstadt and FernUniversität Hagen in Germany. From 2007 until 2010, I worked as a researcher at NEC Europe Network Laboratories in Heidelberg. Within this time, I worked in projects mainly dealing with wireless sensor network security. In December 2010, I joined HAW Hamburg. I am currently a research assistant at the Internet Technologies Group by Prof. Dr. Thomas C. Schmidt.

Research Interests:

  • Security in mobile and smart phones
  • Security in wireless sensor networks and general computer security
  • General interests: security models and provable security, performance analysis and optimization, security and privacy in smart grid

Teaching:

We are always seeking motivated students who are interested in a Bachelor and Master thesis in the field of security. Please come around if you have already an idea or we can find together an interesting thesis topic for you.
