In a hybrid multicast scenario, group names are used to identify multicast groups independent to any technology. But at communication end points, group names require a mapping to technology-dependent group addresses. Similarly, a mapping is needed at gateways to translate between different multicast technologies. This presentation discuss problems and methods of mapping between group names and group addresses.
