Hendrik Roreger: Find "Learning-Friends" in Online Social Networks

This discussion is about future prospects to use current research in the field of e-learning for e-learning enabled online social network. The basic research idea is to find metrics which determine the distance between users in the sense of learning. The presentation will guide through current research in computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) and adaptive learning systems. Technologies for learning style and skill recognition through neural networks or interaction recognition are presented. Furthermore it is discusses whether group forming algorithms can be applied to find collaborators on a learning-topic in social networks. Heuristic approaches for these forming algorithms are presented (Slides).
