Michael Gröning: New Appoaches on Malware Detection on Mobile Devices

As Mobile Devices take over more and more functions from classic Desktop and Laptop Computers, threats to these systems get less theoretical. This demands for a discussion about the practicability of classical patterns of threat detection on mobile devices. Also, there is a need for the conception of new detection techniques in order to secure the integrity of a device.

The presentation will give an insight into possible light-weight detection techniques that are easy to implement on a mobile node. Further it will present results we have achieved by applying principles of Information Theory on the Task of Malware Detection.
