Sebastian Meiling: 1st SISCom-Bretagne research school

This short report gives an overview on the highlights and most interesting talks given during the one week of summer school in Rennes (France). The addressed topics were fairly widespread and ranged from presentations on new hardware technologies, network protocols and architectures, as well as Internet applications and business models. In general, most talks were subjected, in one way or the other, to the next generation Internet.

Worth mentioning is the list of well known and excellent speakers invited to participate in this summer school: i.e. John Day, Andrew Odlyzko and Dimitri Papadimitriou - to name only a few. They presented interesting facts, introduced new ideas and some even did away with old myths for the present, as well as for the future Internet.
